Coliseum

Blood makes poor mortar
For man’s coliseum;
What a bleak existence
Bony, stretched thin
As the waxing moon.
How cheap is the infrastructure
Of more bricks, less straw.
Blink once, and
It is wiped off the face
Of the earth.
